**Re-blog of an older story that got deleted when my site crashed**
During hard times we break our own hearts. We have high hopes for so many things, yet we aren’t prepared to deal with setbacks. There are also times where we feel that we’ve been everything we can be for others, yet it doesn’t seem to be enough and we come down hard on ourselves.
These are the times that we have to learn to take a breath, reflect on who we are deep within, make positive changes in ourselves-for ourselves, and rebuild. It doesn’t matter what the situation is, things fall apart. With that said, there are seasons of rebuilding, sunshine, success, and lessons learned for the future.
I’m guilty of beating myself up, because things haven’t gone according to my plan, or because I’ve been hurt by those I care about. I’m trying to learn patience with myself and life in general. It’s definitely hard, when you have an anxious mind. You can second guess yourself and start to feel as if you’re deserving of whatever outside force is causing you worry, or pain. If you know you’ve done your best at whatever it is, I beg of you not to doubt yourself as a person.
Love yourself more than anyone ever could, and take care of yourself better than anyone can. This way you will no longer hurt your own feelings, when things breakdown in front of you. Some opportunities will not be for you and not everyone will love or support you. Know that it’s just a stormy season and that following a storm, rainbows surround you and things start to grow.
It’s tough enough to have life situations and others beating you down, without you joining in. Breathe, pray or meditate, and smile through it! You can cry for just a moment, but don’t let sorrow keep you prisoner.
Hopefully my words help someone, as this kind of writing is my way of healing and showing love to myself. Take care and heal yourself.❤️
